Nominator's project description

Professor Leroy is internationally highly recognized for his major contributions to our understanding of the structure and evolution of interstellar gas, dust and star formation within galaxies. His focus is on uncovering the physics that underlie and control the star formation process by combining data from world-leading observatories with innovative analysis tools. In Germany, he continues his research to close gaps in our understanding of star formation which requires bringing together physical processes acting over five orders of magnitude of spatial scale.
